Brooklynn Grace Milburn

Dedicated to the memory of Brooklynn Grace Milburn: a beautiful, vibrant girl with an infectious smile and a sunny disposition who, for three and a half years, graced our world with her joy.

With an unforgettable sparkle in her eye, Brooklynn each day delighted in what most of us take for granted. Through example - and anyone who saw her in action couldn't help but learn it - she taught us that every day can be full of life, laughter and discovery.

Shining through the sadness we all feel for the loss of this angel is a deep sense of privilege for having known her during her short time on Earth. We are grateful to her parents, Liz and Thad, for sharing her with so many people. Because of her influence, we smiled a little longer and will continue to do so in our hearts forever.

Magnolia Tree Planted in Memory of Brooklynn

To celebrate her brother's 6th birthday, and in memory of her beautiful life, a magnolia tree was planted for Brooklynn on May 4, 2009. Daniel put the first few scoops of dirt in.

In an outdoor ceremony, the tree and accompanying plaque were dedicated on her birthday, June 19, 2009.

A fund has been established for Brooklynn's brother and the care he will undoubtedly need during this difficult time. Please use the information below to make donations to the Wellness Fund for Daniel Milburn:

On June 2, 2009, the City Council of Fort Worth approved a renaming of Longleaf Court, the cul-de-sac where Brooklynn's family lives. The new name will be Brooklynn Court. Click here for more information.

On February 14, 2009, Summerfields Animal Hospital and Shaffer Veterinary Services hosted a rabies vaccination clinic benefit event for Brooklynn's family. In addition to registering and vaccinating over 200 pets, the event helped to raise community awareness and compliance with both state law and city code by increasing the number of pets (dogs, cats and ferrets) with current rabies vaccines and current city registration.

There was a live music benefit show for the family on Thursday, January 29, 2009. Hosted by Joshua Ingram, it took place at Dublin Square in Fort Worth. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a success and showed their support by helping to raise over $2,500.
